New Appointment for NV Studios’ Los Angeles Office

NV Studios’ new Los Angeles office has made its first appointment, with Luke Field joining as Development Executive for both the company’s scripted and unscripted series slates.

Working in film, television, stage and behind the production scenes – he recently sold the television miniseries The 43 to the BBC and produced Frank Sinatra Documentary To Be Frank on Netflix – Luke has a well-developed understanding of the international content industry.

After arriving at UCLA to study Drama & Film in 2008, Luke swiftly booked his first lead in indie Where The Road Meets The Sun, opposite Eric Marius, Laura Ramsay and Will Yun Lee – for which he won ‘Best Actor’ at the Los Angeles Asian Film Festival in 2011. After graduating, he worked across Europe on a host of projects, including Lotus Eaters with Johnny Flynn & Antonia Campbell Hughes, English horror Blackwood and comedy Magic Boys.

A return to the USA saw him book the lead in American Poltergeist on Netflix and then share the screen with Thomas Mann, Zosia Mamet, Alexis Bledel and Kal Penn in indie drama Tim and Emily. Roles in Stephen King sci-fi horror I Am The Doorway; the title role in Odilo Fabian and the Impossibility of Dreams; romcom One Last Night; thriller All for Nikki and Taika Waititi’s Jojo Rabbit with Scarlett Johansson, Sam Rockwell and Rebel Wilson followed in quick succession.

“I’m excited to be joining NV Studios at a time when the company is growing exponentially and cementing its place in the global content landscape,” says Field. “I’m really looking forward to exploring all manner of new content opportunities across the board with Damien and the team”.

NV Studios CEO Damien Brown, who will shortly be making the permanent move to Los Angeles to oversee the international operation, says Luke’s diverse skill set and industry contacts will add tremendous value to the company. “We have some thrilling scripted and unscripted shows in the works already and I’m looking forward to working with Luke to help grow our content roster, exponentially”. Cape Town-based Development Executive Witney Tucker will also be making the move to the US office to work alongside Luke and Damien.
