Already operating from Johannesburg, Cape Town and London, international broadcast content producers NV Studios have further staked their claim for a piece of the global market by establishing an office in Los Angeles in 2018.
CEO Damien Brown is in the process of emigrating to the USA to steer global operations from the prestige address in LA, from where he will continue to grow the company’s slate of international productions and expand the reach of the more than 80 seasons of shows, already part of the NV Studios catalogue.
“We’ve established a footprint in international markets by thinking ‘global’,” says Brown. “While we’ve thrived from our base in South Africa – and hope to continue to expand the business into facilitation of international productions in our home country – our ambitions lie beyond the borders of SA and setting up shop in LA gives us an invaluable presence at the table of the world’s largest English-language broadcast and streaming content production hub”.
Brown’s focus in Los Angeles will be on growing the business’ scripted arm, with a host of partnerships already in place with global distributors and broadcasters to develop and produce upwards of 9 scripted shows. COO and Showrunner Graeme Swanepoel remains in South Africa and will continue to oversee the company’s successful slate of unscripted shows, which are produced both in SA and the USA.
